The Farm

Cascina Bagaggera is an organic livestock farm situated in the heart of Curone Regional Park, 45 minutes north of Milan and just south of the Italian alps and Lake Como. In addition to using organic and biodynamic practices to raise goats for meat and dairy, the farm is an agritourismo and restaurant with a strong social mission. They employee disabled individuals through the Corimbo ONLUS Association, promoting their independence and education. There is also a Montessori nursery school on site. Cascina Bagaggera is deeply embedded in their region, supporting community and ecosystem regeneration.

The Team

Cascina Bagaggera is a family owned farm led by Marta Galimberti and her partner Elia, and founded by Marta’s father Giuseppe in 1995. Marta & Elia decided to take the reins of the farm in 2017 after a devastating fire threatened to end the enterprise. The rebuilding process further deepened their commitment to community and ecological regeneration. The team is currently in the process of biodynamic certification. In 2025, Marta was presented with the Good Farmer Award created by the Davines Group in Collaboration with the Fondazione per lo sviluppo sostenibile (Sustainable Development Foundation).

What’s special about Climate Farm School at Cascina Bagaggera?

One of our newest host farms, Cascina Bagaggera is deeply ingrained in their local community. Their proximity to Milan and location in the regional park makes them a crucial aspect of the rural-urban interface. The farm has emphasized using their location and deep hospitality skills to support the financial sustainability of the farm and their social mission - which is of equal importance to the farm’s production. Cascina Bagaggera is a true example of an organization playing an important role in all aspects of the regional ecosystem: producing food, restoring ecologies, and caring for the community. In addition, this course includes a visit to EROC - the European partner to the Rodale Institute-housed Regenerative Organic Certification. This organization is positioned to take a leading role in supporting a regenerative transition through research and farmer outreach.
