Faith Van De Putte

Faith Van De Putte runs Midnight’s Farm on Lopez Island with her husband, David Bill. Midnight’s Farm is rooted in regenerative practices, climate action, and community engagement, with a focus on stewardship that tends the soil and responds to the climate crisis through community-scale composting, rotational grazing, biochar utilization, agroforestry, and an intensive no-till market garden. Faith’s focus is the market garden, which supplies vegetables and berries to families, stores, and restaurants. The farm’s commitment to education and curiosity also extends to hosting interns, offering educational events, and participating in on-farm research.

Faith graduated from Fairhaven College with a self-designed major, “The Ecology of Health,” which sparked her deep inquiry into our relationship with the earth and one another. From 2018 to 2026, she served as San Juan County’s Agricultural Resource Committee coordinator, helping shape policy that supports agriculture, including through the county’s comprehensive planning process. As a member of the Food System Team, she helped research and write the Community Food Assessment and Food System Plan. She co-designed and launched the Climate COMPASS project, an interactive climate exercise designed to empower San Juan County residents through education, engagement, and collective action. She is an alumna of the Washington AgForestry Leadership Program.
